STRATEGIES, POLICIES AND PROCEDURES FOR APPLYING TO THE USMLE EXAM

  • From their arrival at the School of Medicine, students are exposed to various strategies and interactions aimed at promoting and developing the necessary skills for their proper performance in the USMLE exams.
  • Every semester, orientation meetings are held with students of the Pre-Medical and Basic Sciences cycles, in order to recommend strategies to develop the knowledge and skills evaluated in this exam, to offer guidelines for anxiety management, as well as to propose individual work plans to overcome identified needs.
  • During the Basic Sciences Cycle, diagnostic tests are applied as practice for students to become familiar with the content and format of the exam.
  • During the 10th semester, the “Integrated Basic Sciences” course is offered, instructing students on the assessment methodology used for the USMLE.
  • We offer an Academic Mentoring Program, where we work individually with each student according to their academic and personal needs.
  • Active students and graduates who wish to apply to the ECFMG to take Step 1, Step 2CK and CS of the USMLE, are evaluated by the USMLE Monitoring Sub-Committee.
